It was a chance meeting at a New York City bar, the night Meredith and Andy met for the first time. That’s where these two New York City transplants, who were miles (and in one case, an ocean) away from the place they had grown up, sparked a connection that led to the greatest romance either of them had ever known. It was in the city where Meredith and Andy got to know each other over a series of dates in their favorite neighborhoods; where they discovered the little ways to make each other laugh. The city was where they fell in love. So when it came time to plan their wedding, they knew the very best location for it to take place would be in the city that brought them together.
Being that nearly all of their guests were traveling in to New York for the wedding (from the South for Meredith’s family and all the way from Scotland for Andy’s), they planned a day that would truly give their guests a glimpse into the very best that Manhattan has to offer. From their ceremony at the 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church to their bagpipe-led march to the reception at 620 Loft and Garden (complete with a view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Center), it would be easy to imagine that guests could have be overwhelmed by the beauty and grandeur of it all.
But throughout the entire day there was one thing even more captivating than the city sights: the remarkable couple at the center of it all. Andy and Meredith were beaming with joy and went out of their way to ensure the people they love most had the most incredible evening. As the night came to an end and Meredith and Andy made their exit, all of their friends and family cheered as the happy couple headed off to start their life together as husband in wife in the city that began their love.
