WEDDINGS

It's pretty safe to say that the most difficult part of the wedding day for Lee was not seeing Patrick the entire morning. From the moment they had gotten together, at every other milestone in their lives, any time when she had been nervous or excited he had been right by her side. And he always knew exactly how to make her feel better. That morning she had to go it alone, knowing there were hours to go, make-up to have done, hair to style, before she would finally have him by her side. Her nerves could have gotten the best of her had it not been for Patrick. Somehow, even though he was miles down the road, he still managed to find a way to be her calming force that morning. He lent her his Air Force coin, a significant token that marked his passage from trainee to airman, a heavy object that she could hold in her hands and calm whatever nerves she may have had as she went through the motions in the hours before the church. It was exactly what she needed. As her make-up was being completed, she held the coin. She sat down to have the finishing touches on her hair and she was fidgeting with it once again. Even as her dress was being zippered she grasped the coin, knowing it was just a few moments to go until she could finally trade it for the real thing.

Once they locked eyes in the church, you could actually see all of Lee's nerves melt away. She lit up, opening her mouth in a wide smile and focusing on Patrick with each step down the aisle. From the minute they first held hands at the alter it was clear everyone was about to witness something very special. Because individually, Lee and Patrick are great: compassionate (they're both work in health care), hilarious (the rare couple where they're both equally funny, it's hard to pick a "funny one"), and completely genuine. But together, they are pretty amazing. Once you see them look into each other's eyes or make each other laugh, you know you have seen something that's not easy to find but impossible to miss when it's truly there: chemistry. They're the kind of couple that you feel lucky to know because you know they can be the shining example you can turn to anytime you need proof that love can last the test of time. Because you can tell theirs will - it's written all over their faces.

* * *

We started the morning with our usual pre-wedding coffee stop, getting a particularly large Dunkin Donuts iced coffee for the drive up to Longmeadow, Massachusetts to meet Lee and her girls while they were getting ready. I came prepared for the ride, of course, with a new mix CD (yes, I still make those) filled with some new songs I could sing to Rob that morning (which he totally loved it, of course). We were particularly pumped when we arrived, only in part thanks to the music selection, it mostly due the fact that we were excited to see Lee & Patrick again. Based on the amount of fun we had all had at their engagement session, we knew a fantastic day was in store. (Plus, we got the chance to talk to Lee's father - a photographer in his own right, who Rob could have had a geek-out session with all morning). We arrived just as Lee's hair was being completed by Salon Bocage and Janice Raccio from Salon Naomi was about to take over doing Lee's make-up. We took the opportunity to spend some quality time with Lee's gorgeous Alvina Valenta gown, bringing it around the property with some help from Lee's dad. After the finishing touches on hair and make-up were done, we handed the dress back over to Lee who promptly put it on - eager to get to the church.

Thankfully it was a short drive over to St. Mary's Church in Longmeadow, so Lee's wait was almost over. Patrick held back a tear as he saw her walking toward him, he had clearly been as anxiously waiting for that moment as she had. The ceremony was filled with some personal touches since the priest saying the mass had known Lee since she had attended the parish grammar school. Once the ceremony came to an end and Patrick and Lee walked down the aisle together hand-in-hand, they were ready for the party to start. They laughed and joked together on the steps of the church, had a blast with their wedding party during pictures at Hartford City Hall, and wowed all of their guests with a very special song (& dance) as they were introduced to the reception at the The Society Room of Hartford. They had set the tone for the rest of the night from the first song of the reception and Marx Entertainment DJ's followed their lead and kept the crowd on their feet all night long. It was as if everyone was feeding off the energy being spread by Lee & Patrick whose pure joy was completely undeniable, utterly adorable, and totally contagious.

Lee kept saying she was nervous, but you really couldn't tell to look at her. She had this serene smile on her face all morning - probably thanks to the coin from Patrick resting in her lap.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

Sometimes, as we get to know brides during the months leading up the wedding, we try to guess what their dress might be like as we drive to meet them in the morning. Might sound odd, but it's a fun game for us. We both had a feeling that Lee would go with something exactly like this Alvina Valenta. It may sound odd, but I really think wedding dresses can totally match your personality.

The simple all-white calla lily bouquet complimented the long silhouette of Lee's dress.

Lee's mother helped secure the bow into place. If you look closely, you can see Patrick's coin being held in Lee's right hand.

We've worked with Janice Raccio from Salon Naomi several times and we're always happy to see her - not just cause she's so nice but because we know she always does a clean, beautiful job - nothing too overdone, just beautiful.

There's something really emotional about having the veil put in, I think. When else do you ever get to wear a veil besides your wedding day? It's like as soon as it's in, it's all the more real - you are now a bride.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

We weren't the only ones enjoying getting shots of Lee (& Patrick) all day - there were tons of cameras, which we actually don't mind because it gives us the chance to get some fun shots like this.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

The very last stop before heading to the church - outside to get some bridals of Lee. We definitely had to show off just how gorgeous she looked.

Plus she totally knows had to bring the sass - check out that smirk and the big smile.

Finally... arriving at the church. Everyone was walking a bit faster than usual, eager to get the ceremony started.

With Patrick's coin left at home for safe-keeping, Lee's bridesmaids decided to use programs to fan her before they walked down the aisle. Lee couldn't help but laugh.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

This is always the moment that gets me - when it's just the bride and her father, all the bridesmaids are already at the end of the aisle and it really begins to sink in. Once the music changes and the doors open, the wedding officially begins. Makes me tear up nearly every time.

There it is - the moment when Lee's nerves officially melted away.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

If you look closely, there is tear just welling up at Patrick's eye and a smile just waiting to shine through.

This was the moment they had both been waiting for all morning, when they were finally side-by-side once again.

We love looking out for the parent's reactions during the ceremony, because we know that for them these moments mark a very special time for them as well.

There was a burst of applause as Lee & Patrick shared their first kiss. It was as if everyone had been waiting to finally express their happiness for the couple as well.

We knew that Lee & Patrick would have friends similar in mindset to themselves - and their wedding party did not disappoint. They were loads of fun, and totally brought out their inner models (and later, comedians) at Hartford City Hall.

The wedding party snuck off to relax a bit as we spent some time with the newlyweds.

The Wadsworth Museum, right next to City Hall, was under construction while we were there and they happened to have this particularly cool fences set up. Instead of trying to avoid them, we actually liked them and decided to incorporate them into the shots.

Another fun camera phone shot, I think this one was going directly up on Facebook to inform all of cyberspace that Lee & Patrick were officially married.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

Honestly, we could have these two smile at each other all day long. They're just THAT cute together.

We headed inside City Hall as well, getting the chance for a few quiet moments and some architecture-inspired shots.

Of course, the wedding party came along as well, bring some of the party with them.

I spent some time with Lee & Patrick down at the bottom floor of the atrium, going in close to capture the playful faces they make at one another.

I totally love Lee's smile here - feels like a mix of happiness being completely proud to look up at Patrick and know that he is now her husband.

The next two are Rob's - doing what he does best, totally playing up the unique architecture of a location and still managing to tie that into the connection between the couple - like the way Lee's leaning onto Patrick's shoulder here.

and Rob totally one-up'd me, staying up a level and getting this awesome angle.

Finally time for the party to get started, Lee & Patrick had arrived on Pratt Street.

Lee & Patrick's super yummy cake was from a bakery in Lee's hometown, Cerrato's Pastry Shop in Longmeadow.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

Lee and Patrick shocked their guests with a special song and dance as they were introduced into the reception: a mix of "I'm Too Sexy " and "Vogue." It was hilarious and adorable.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

They then switched gears, going into a very romantic first dance.

Patrick's groomsmen were a group of his friends who had been close for years (and seen each other through pretty much everything), so they had to give him an extra special toasts - the story of how Lee & Patrick got together, mixed with snippets of their favorite songs. It was a tough act to follow, but Lee's sister gave her speech next - a touching tribute to the older sister she had always looked up to.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

Next up at the mic was Lee's grandmother who walked Lee & Patrick through a Polish wedding tradition, meant to give good luck to the bride and groom.

Connecticut Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | The Society Room, Hartford, CT: Wedding Photos

The dance floor may have cleared for cake cutting, but the entertainment didn't end. Lee & Patrick kept everyone laughing as they feed one another, each debating whether or not they should put a dab of icing on each other's faces.

Lee & Patrick, we have really loved getting to know you both and sharing your wedding day with you. We definitely have to catch up sometime soon!

Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Stephanie & Ricky's Wedding Story Tuesday, October 19, 2010

WEDDINGS

Stephanie and Ricky are really smart people. Like super smart, met as undergrads together at Yale, kind of smart. Then they both went on to Northwestern where Ricky is studying to be a doctor and Stephanie got her law degree. But they didn't use all their brain powers on just hitting the books and getting good grades, they also made some great decisions. One, in particular, was most important: recognizing there was something special between them when their relationship first sparked in college. Sure, they could have been reckless and young and not quite see the full potential of that relationship, but they didn't. They trusted their hearts, and their heads, and built something together. Something that lasted distance, time, and any difficulties that may have come their way. Because they were smart enough to know that in one another they had found something rare: a kindred spirit.

* * *

We started with at the The Tarrytown House Estate in Tarrytown, NY bright and early, even arriving before Stephanie and her girls had returned from getting their hair and make-up done. Thankfully, Stephanie had left her dress and shoes behind for us so we could get started right away. As usual, we scouted the property (which, in this case especially, was quite expansive) and found a great place to bring Stephanie's Mikaella Bridalgown - in the middle of a giant tree that looked like it could have stepped right out of a fairy tale (because trees can walk in fairy tales, right?). Once we finished up the capturing all the details, we actually got a chance to spend some time with Ricky and his guys who were getting ready just steps away from the ceremony location. Stephanie arrived just a few minutes later, looking even more beautiful than usual with her hair and make-up done perfectly.

She was pretty excited to see Ricky, so we made sure to do their "First Look" right away. It's hard to say which one of them was more excited and when they finally saw each other they pretty much just melted into each other's arms and Ricky kissed Stephanie on the top of her head ever so sweetly. We spent a few minutes with just the two of them and then their families came along to join us. We did all of the family photos before the ceremony, a big relief to Stephanie and Ricky and their family members I'm sure. We always feel that family pictures are one of the most important times of the day because it's crucial to capture all of the people that have led you to this moment in your life. Once that was all complete, we headed inside the The Tarrytown House Estate for the Ketubah signing. The small room we were in was packed with their closest friends and family, all there to witness the moment when they would officially become husband and wife. Ricky then lifted Stephanie's veil and placed it over her face - signifying that it was time for the ceremony to begin.

The location of the ceremony was nearly as beautiful as the decor, with a gorgeous chuppah adorned with autumn-colored flowers. It was a romantic and emotional ceremony with many of the guests grabbing the hands of their dates or wiping tears away as they watched Stephanie and Ricky exchange vows. After the ceremony was over, Stephanie and Ricky snuck away for their few moments alone before the reception began. On their way to the reception, we grabbed a few more shots of just the two of them. The party got started the minute Stephanie and Ricky stepped onto the dance floor and the Bales Gitlin Band kept it going all night long.

We arrived a bit early, giving us plenty to time to photograph all of Stephanie's details, including her Mikaella Bridal gown. This was a huge weeping willow tree and we climbed right into the center of it just to get this shot.

I was totally in love with Stephanie's shoes, the delicate little bow and the high heel were perfect together.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

Of course, Ricky was looking especially handsome himself. There's something really special about a classic tuxedo with a bow-tie.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

Stephanie was so excited to finally put her dress on, she had this smile on her face the whole rest of the day.

All of the bridesmaids gathered around to help make sure each part of Stephanie's dress was absolutely perfect.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

Once she was all in, the room filled with the sounds of Oohs and Ahhs from her girls, and then came Stephanie's big smile again.

Before we grabbed Ricky for the "First Look" we spent some time with Stephanie alone - how gorgeous does she look?

Once they were finally face-to-face, Ricky planted a sweet kiss on Stephanie's forehead - something he would do many more times that day.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

The light was so beautiful at this part of the estate, we could have stayed their all day. Unfortunately, it was an active driveway so we had to move along. Thankfully, there were many more great spots around the property.

The wedding party was a lot of fun and totally excited for Stephanie and Ricky, they couldn't wait for the party to begin.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

Once all the formal pictures were complete, we headed inside for the Ketubah signing. The Rabbi held up the Ketubah at the beginning of the ceremony, so everyone in attendance could marvel at how beautiful it was. After the wedding day, it will be hung up in their house.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

After the Ketubah was signed, Ricky lifted Stephanie's veil and placed it over her face marking that the ceremony was set to begin.

New York Wedding Photography: Robert and Kathleen Photographers | Tarrytown House, Tarrytown, NY: Wedding Photos

Theirs was one of the most beautiful chuppahs we had ever seen - the lush mix of flowers against the bright blue sky was breathtaking.

The ceremony began when Ricky was escorted down the aisle by both of his parents.

The little ones in the wedding party were adorable and totally loved being a part of the ceremony.

Even though they had seen each other just minutes before, Ricky and Stephanie each still had the same reactions when they saw each other on the other end of the aisle.

Before Stephanie took her place next to Ricky, each of her parents lifted her veil and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Since the ceremony was outside, we could get many different angles without interfering with the ceremony.

Jewish ceremonies are filled with a lot of traditions marking the joining of the families. At this point of the ceremony, each other offered their new child-in-law wine.

I always love learning about the meaning behind traditions. The breaking of the glass has many different meanings. My favorite is that the couple is saying that the marriage will last as long as the glass is broken - forever.

After the ceremony, Stephanie and Ricky took a few minutes to themselves, another part of Jewish tradition.

This little flower girl was absolutely adorable, once the ceremony was over and she could run around again she didn't waste a minute.

TRAVEL PHOTOS

I know I know, it has been almost a week since we blogged, what is up with that?? As you all know we have been in New York City for our "Taking Off" {NYC} Seminar. Let me tell you, it was more than just fun, it was inspirational, motivating and exciting and a complete success. We loved meeting new faces and spending time with old ones and can't wait to share more about what we did, what we captured and what we all experienced.

While we were backing up all of the images from the two very full days of shooting we just had to share this shot with you all. This is the view from our suite in The London Hotel as the sun was rising right before all of our attendees arrived. We have never seen a view like this before and can only hope to see it again sometime soon. I'm thinking this has to be turned in a very large print and hung some where in our place. We can't wait to share a whole lot more!

Waveny House: New Canaan, CT: Hillari & Danny's Wedding Story Saturday, October 9, 2010

WEDDINGS

Like any focused bride, Hillari knew exactly how she wanted her wedding day to be. She had a clear vision - from the attire to the details, the decor to the entertainment and they all came together to create a classic, romantic wedding - a complete reflection of Hillari herself. All of the details of the day provided glimpses into Hillari's personality. Her Modern Trousseau gown overflowing with ruffles, made it clear to anyone that had any doubt, Hillari was a hopeless romantic. Throughout the entire reception were little notes and gifts for her guests, gestures that showed her thoughtful nature and reminded their friends and family just how much they mean to them. Of course, there was one person she had thought of in particular: her groom, Danny. For him, she had a very special detail: a specially made groom's cake in the shape of a plane done by DiMare Pastry Shop. It was a nod to his hobby and especially significant to them as a couple since he had proposed using his airplane (to read that story, click here). But if there was one thing evident throughout the whole day, it was that all the work and planning that went into the wedding were the result of just how much Hillari loves Danny. And when they were on the dance floor together during the reception and Hillari looked around at the room, you could tell she knew the day was even better than she could have ever hoped it would be. Because at the end of the day, Danny was now her husband and the wedding ring on his finger was the very best detail of all.

Like any smart groom, Danny knew that his number one goal that day was to make sure Hillari was happy. And that he did - walking to greet her and take her hand as she walked down the aisle in the church, remarking over and over again about how stunning she looked that day, grabbing and swinging her around on the dance floor throughout the night. He was the vision of the perfect groom, not just because of all the things he was doing, but because of how he was doing them. Every gesture was an honest expression of how he felt. Taking her hand in the church, letting her know that he will be by her side and protect her from now on. Telling her how beautiful she looked - he knew she would, but it was important for him to let her know just how much she wowed him that day, as she does every day. Grabbing her and swinging her around on the dance floor - reminding her that she makes him happier than he has ever been before, free to express his joy and let all his family and friends know that this is the one woman in the world that makes me feel this way.

* * *

We started the day with Hillari and her girl's at her Maid of Honor's house where we were greeted the way we like the best - with the offer of sandwiches and snacks. Hillari already looked gorgeous, having recently returned from Shades of Beauty in Mamaroneck, NY, where her hair and make-up had been done. While she relaxed with her girls for a few minutes, Rob and I spent some quality time with Hillari's fabulous Modern Trousseau gown. We had some company too, Hillari & Danny's videographer Glen from GM Elliott Videography , who didn't even think it was weird we were so excited to photograph her dress. When we headed back inside, we were happy to discover that the flowers had arrived - ivory, green and pink bouquets done by Diane Gaudett. When it came time for Hillari to put her dress on, her bridesmaids and sisters gathered around and helped her into it. It was a sweet moment - with laughter and another detail for Danny, a special pendant she had pinned onto the bottom of her dress.

Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle for the ceremony. As usual, we headed out shortly before Hillari and her girls, so we could get set up in the church and introduce ourselves to the officiant. This also gave us the chance to meet up with Danny and his groomsmen. We took our usual places - Rob at the front of the church waiting to capture Hillari's walk down the aisle and me outside the church awaiting Hillari's arrival and walk into the church. After the ceremony, when Hillari and Danny walked out of the church, Danny promptly walked to the curb and hailed a cab to take them over to the The Waveny House for the reception. Of course, it was a special cab - a classic 1950's checkered taxi, one of Danny's special touches in the day.

When we arrived over at the The Waveny House, we were wowed by all the gorgeousness put together by Hillari & Danny's wedding planner, Andrea Martin-Seaman of Event Creations. Andrea and her staff were incredibly attentive all night - making sure Hillari & Danny had everything they needed, and that the room looked meticulous. While the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, we spent some quality time with the happy couple - even getting the chance to grab some shots with Danny flying his plane around the grounds by the Waveny. Soon, the staff from Ciao Catering were all set for the reception to kick off and Hillari and Danny were introduced to some lively music provided by the Charles St. Paul Band from Cliffside Park, NJ. They kept the room rocking all night long, keeping the dance floor packed and party going well into the night. Of course, the sugar high we all had from the insanely packed dessert table (another thoughtful detail from Hillari) probably helped contribute to that as well!

I have to admit, I totally fell in love with Hillari's gorgeous Modern Trousseau gown. We could have easily done a whole session with the dress by itself.

The bouquet done by Diane Gaudett complimented Hillari's gown perfectly - soft, romantic and classic.

We found some amazing window light on the table right next to the chair we used for the flowers, a great spot for Hillari's shoes.

Hillari's bridesmaids gathered around to help her into the dress - not only did they take care of all the buttons, they also made Hillari laugh. Always a good trait in a friend.

The day before the wedding, Danny's mother went to the house where Hillari was getting ready and decorated the banister - a very sweet little touch we wanted to incorporate.

We headed out back behind the house to spend a few minutes with just Hillari. She was totally relaxed and excited to get to the church.

Hillari's cathedral length veil carried through the romantic tone of her attire.

The bridesmaids came out to join us and, of course, made Hillari laugh even more.

Diane Gaudett does amazing work - I was in love with the mix of textures in the bouquets.

Before heading over to the church, we all took to the streets. Thankfully they weren't too busy!

It was a short drive over to Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle for the ceremony.

Danny actually said "Wow" outloud when he say Hillari at the end of the aisle. After the ceremony, he said he knew she would look good but she totally blew him away.

Danny walked part of the way down the aisle to greet Hillari and escort her the rest of the way.

I'm always impressed by how priests & officiants can mix a bit of humor into a ceremony - it makes that ceremony that much more enjoyable.

Rob was loving the architecture of the church, showing it off a bit with the shot on the left.

There was a boisterous round of applause when Hillari and Danny went in for their very first kiss as husband and wife...

which continued as they walked down the aisle together.

Following the ceremony, Danny went to the curb and hailed this cab - a beautifully restored yellow checkered cab that would escort them over to The Waveny House.

What's a ride over to your ceremony with a glass of champagne? (One of my favorite moments from our own wedding!)

The Waveny is gorgeous location - historic with lots character and details and a virtual blank space that you can make completely your own.

After a quick stop up in the bridal suite to freshen up, Hillari headed down the dramatic staircase to head out for some photo time.

Of course, we were totally loving using the cab as a backdrop. This is my shot of Hillari and Danny cuddling in front of the car.

And this is Rob's of Hillari channeling her inner model and leaning on the front.

Of course, we had to bring Danny back in because a) he couldn't get enough of being next to his wife and b) it was the fastest way to make Hillari smile.

Rob snapped this shot as Hillari and Danny cuddling once again.

The wedding party came out to join us and continue the love fest we were having with the cab.

We finally pulled ourselves away from the taxi and headed over to the back of the Waveny House to have some more time with just the happy bride & groom.

I think this was one of Danny's favorite moments - he was loving getting to swing Hillari around.

It probably goes without saying that the cake would fit in with all the other details of the day. The ivory cake, decorated with green and pink flowers, was made by DiMare Pastry Shop in Stamford.

While Hillari and Danny spent some time with their guests, we headed in and grabbed shots of the centerpieces by Diane GaudettEvent Creations.

Members of the band, Charles St. Paul Band from Cliffside Park, NJ, entertained the guests during the cocktail hour on the patio of the Waveny.

As the sun started to set, we grabbed a few more shots of Hillari & Danny on the lawn behind the house.

Of course, Danny's model airplane had to make an appearance on their wedding day. He brought it out for the cocktail hour and flew it around while all the guests gathered on the patio and cheered them on.

One of her first very thoughtful wifely actions, Hillari ran out (in heels, no less) to catch Danny's plane as be brought it down for landing.

Hillari and Danny had some impressive dance moves, let's just say there were several dips. As there should be! :)

Danny was completely surprised by Hillari's groom cake - modeled after the plane he used to propose to her. DiMare Pastry Shop did a great job putting it together.

Hillari & Danny, we had a wonderful time with you both - from your engagement session to your wedding day. We really enjoyed getting to know you both and felt honored to capture all the amazing moments of your wedding day. We hope you had an amazing time in California on your honeymoon!

PREVIEWS

This time of year I sometimes feel like Jessie Spano on that very special episode of "Saved by the Bell." It takes a lot for me to resist the urge to stand in the corner and dramatically say to myself over and over again, "No time, there's never any time!" Of course, I'm not on speed and Zack Morris doesn't live next door to me (if only), but I totally get her point. Sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day. For the next several weeks we will be going non-stop, our October is jam-packed. Rob and I will be relying on a diet of caffeine and whatever food we can make (or, more accurately, get delivered) quickly, but we'll be loving every minute of it. I'm not sure what it says about us, but we actually kinda enjoy this time of year. We put our heads down, focus, and look forward to every next shoot, especially since it gives us a chance to step away from the computer and spend some time with our couples. Believe it or not, we look back in January or February and sometimes crave the craziness that is October.

With that in mind, we thought we share with you a bit of what we have been up to in September, which was probably runner-up in the busiest month race. We've had weddings all around the tri-state area and it's pretty safe to say by now that I know nearly every Usher song on the radio by heart. Sometimes I find myself singing along on the dance floor without even realizing it. Maybe by the end of October I'll be busting out in dance moves? I should start practicing now (the Britney Spears Glee episode may have re-kindled my love for trying to learn dance moves from music videos.) Have I said too much? Let's just say I can do one mean Billie Jean.)

Ok, well before I embarrass myself anymore, let's get to the good stuff - the pictures!

Coming up next, our second wedding in our whirl-wind Labor Day weekend triple header: Hillari & Danny at The Waveny House in New Canaan.

Then it's Stephanie & Ricky's romantic wedding at the The Tarrytown House.

The following weekend we headed up north to spend the day with Lee & Patrick who wowed us with their impressive first dance at The Society Room of Hartford.

The following day we had a bit of a change of pace, getting to spend the afternoon with some sweet little girls (and they're wonderful parents) for a family session at Walnut Beach in Milford.

The following weekend we were back up in Hartford, hitting up some of the best picture spots with Jennifer & Jeff before their reception at the The Bond Ballroom.

Alba & Gary's wedding kept us a bit closer to home, with their ceremony in Shelton and reception at The Waterview in Monroe.

Finally, this wedding from just a few days ago, which was a bit of a homecoming for Rob. It brought us back to his hometown of Naugatuck for Suzanne & Dave's wedding. Rob has been close with Suzanne's family for several years and grew up going to their house. It was a bit surreal, and incredibly special, to be photograph such special moments for a family we care so much about.

Hope these fun previews get you all even more excited for the beautiful weddings have coming up on the blog. In the meantime, Rob and I are going to head over the Max, pick up some Buddy Bands and enter a dance contest.
